Photos & Art & Movies oh My!
I’ve finally re-posted some photos to this place. I put them in the About section since I don’t really consider them art. There’s about fifty of them. I will probably post more in the future but at least I’ve got some back up. I’ve been working on my art gallery as well. I’ve posted some new art and will be posting some of my better older art soonish.
Not much else to say on the updates for the moment. I’m still working hard on my animation and I really hope to have it done by the end of the month… *crosses fingers and finds some motivation* Still trying to come up with a new site design for this place. I got a new one up at theGreykitty.net though. I’m fairly pleased with how it came out. Ahhh so much to do and so little time.
Oh yeah and this is totally unrelated but…Avatar finale was great! I really really enjoyed it. There are some loose ends they should have tied up, but only so much you can fit into two hours I suppose. Overall it was a good ending though.
I also got to see the new Batman movie, it was most excellent. Joker was awesome, only thing is he wasn’t as creepy as I thought he would be. One thing that annoyed me was how growly Batman’s voice was. XD I don’t remember it being that way in the first one, but it’s been a while since I last watched it too. The action scenes were awesome, I would definitely recommend watching it on the big screen just for all those. The score is pretty spiffy too.
Saw Hancock and it was ok, the first half was hilarious, but the end wasn’t as strong as it could have been. Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy it, just wasn’t quite what I expected, though I was glad that the story was deeper than what the trailers portrayed. Will Smith made a good reluctant super hero.
Also watched Wall-E. The animation is excellent in it! Not just the graphics, but the animation in general was beautiful. The expressions and body language conveyed so much emotion. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it isn’t a very fast paced movie, but I never really got bored with it. Kung Fu Panda, cheesy but very very funny! Indiana Jones 4, it was entertaining but didn’t really seem to fit the Indiana Jones theme. I mean… aliens? Eh I guess I expected something more like the Lost Arc or something. Though I have to say some of the stunts in it were pretty fab.
I can’t forget the other two that my mom wanted me to go see with her, those were Nim’s Island and Kit Kittridge. I’ll have to admit that neither were that bad, I enjoyed Nim’s Island the most, and Gerard Buttler was really good so was the performance by Jodie Foster…heck even the little girl and her seal were good. It was an entertaining movie. Kit Kittridge was a little bit too much of a mom movie for me but I didn’t not like it. It was worth seeing, nothing at all bad in it.
Oh and I did forget one, cause this is now my third edit..maybe even more now. lol Anyways, I saw Prince Caspian as well. I didn’t really have any expectations for this one. The first Narnia movie was ok, but they butchered the characters, and just killed the emotion that was in the book. Anyways back to P.C. The effects were good and that’s about the only positive thing I have to say about it…oh and the actor for Caspian was good. I will admit that of all the Narnia books Prince Caspian is my least fav…borderline I don’t like, so this movie was just bleh. It was slow, the plot was not really there, cheese was sprinkled throughout, it was basically just two hours of fantasy creatures and people duking it out on a battle field. I didn’t even care much for the score.
So now that I’ve turned this entry into a long babble about the movies I’ve seen recently…I’ll end it. XD Will have more updates soonish! I might also turn this update thing into more of a blog… but I dunno. We’ll see.

I been soooo tired today and I don't know why. I have been feeling kinda bleh the last few days but today especially.
I totally need to finish my site and all the revamp stuff. I been so lacking in inspiration for a good layout though. ): I've been working on and off on my animation. Slowly getting it done. I gotta try and find the file I had in premiere but I dunno … where it went which bums me out big time as I'll probably have to re-compile everything and re-time it all again. Third times a charm?
I put in a bid on a job at this guru.com site and the person got back to me and explained the job and gave me these really lame ass bad quality cartoons for examples of what he was looking for. And in the ad it said he was looking for an Animator/cartoon comic artist. Well after I'd sent him a couple drawings of mine, granted I stick to mostly cartoons, he sends me a final e-mail consisting of one line and three pictures. “This is the quality and detail of work I am looking for” and those images… one was the friggin' Narnia poster. The other two were one of Jesus sitting with this gayishly happy family and another of a super hero comic cover from DC comics. Uhm yeah talk about FALSE ADVERTISING, and then when he says I want this “quality”. >.> I felt burned and stupid for even trying. He shoulda put “illustrator wanted” cause you put up animator and you're not going to get detail…nor cartoon comic artist. Bah whatever.
I did get some bids on art over at furbuy. I've never tried the site out so I decided to try it the other day just for the heck of it. Didn't think I'd get any bids at all so this was a nice surprise. Makes up for that facker who can't advertise clearly. LOL Funniest thing of all was I dreampt I got a bid on the $40 one last night and then I had a bid when I logged on this morning…mmm. Uhm…that's about all.
My eyes hurt so I'm going now.. XD

Ok so this is just some thoughts. Things I've been speculating on and just turning over in my mind for the last few years.
Since even before I left Colorado, which was three years ago, I'd noticed something started changing about me. And I'm not referring to the fact that I'm all “grown up” now. Just little things about myself. The main one being my beliefs.
I've always grown up with church, and I think I've always kind of taken it for granted that I have. I know the Christian terms for things and I have always just kinda taken it that there is a God and all that jazz. Since I've left my little zone in Colorado I've talked with a lot of people who haven't even really ever been exposed to church so all that is just foreign to them.
I'm always hearing how in order to be a “good” Christian you MUST attend church. Which the more I hear the less inclined I am to believe that. I have met many good Christians who do not. I think here in America especially we've lost touch of what the true church really is. The church is not just a building, it's not just a place to go and listen to the man who stands behind the pulpit and gives a long winded sermon about redundant topics. It's not about trying to convert as many people as possible. It's about showing God's love to those who haven't seen it, it's about caring when nobody else does, it's about reaching out to the ones that are hurting. I believe the church are the believers, not the building and I don't believe you have to go to an organized church to grow.
A lot of people are turning away from churches now a days whether it be they were burned by them, forced to go as a child, scared off by the condemning ones, or just that it no longer seems to provide what they are looking for. I hear the “go there so you can fellowship with like minded folk”. You can be anywhere to do that, even online, although I know many are gonna discount that.
I know it is good to discuss faith and get different viewpoints from fellow believers, but I don't believe you have to do that in a church. It seems most think you need the church building, you need an organized meeting etc. Mass meetings, they are very impersonal, and I think far from what the original church was like. I understand that there were a lot fewer believers back then but I don't think the church was meant to be as it is now. It is not reaching it's full potential and I believe it is stuck in a rut.
We get so caught up in the trivial as well, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant, Episcopalian, etc that we lose sight of what we really need to be focused on. Oh I know churches have their outreaches and whatnot, but as a whole nobody is bold about anything. They go on Sunday morning and then for the rest of the week it doesn't matter. I realize there are always exceptions but it seems that's how it is most of the time. I know many are so concerned about mingling with the “lost” that they avoid anything non Christian. That's another thing I do not agree with, just because it's non Christian doesn't make it evil.
I have heard the line of “Oh you listen/read to such and such you're making a doorway for the devil”. I know one should be discerning with what one fills their minds with, but there are some things, i.e. Harry Potter. So many Christians won't even touch the books or movies and when someone asks them why, the only answer they can give is that it's “evil”. Which is really a lame excuse, and I'm sure if they asked someone whey they didn't like the Bible and only got a similar answer from that person they'd want some valid reason, and ask have they even read it before they can judge.
I think we should know what we face and why we don't like something. If Christians are gonna say they don't like Harry Potter, they should come up with a pretty dang good reason. Actually read the books and be able to pinpoint what exactly it is. A lot of Christians always need a good reason from someone who's against them but when it comes to the Christian being against something worldly, often they cannot come up with anything that is a valid reason.
Just because we are to be in the world but not of it doesn't mean we should block out everything. We need to be aware of things, try to not slip up yes, but there is also a point where you should have a strong enough faith to not fall into it. Resist the temptation to, but have knowledge of just what is out there. We need to understand what others believe in order to reach them. Don't get to involved in what they are into but don't ignore it completely.
I got more to add but for now this is long enough of a book. XD I'll just add what I want later, it's kind of a different topic but still similar… hah that and it's 1AM and I need to sleep or something.
