Calcium Water

So I’m sitting here drinking this bottled water and wondering…why does it have calcium in it… it even says on the bottle “rich in Calcium”.  Why?  That’s what drinking milk is all about.  Ah well.

Well as anyone who knows me somewhat well can tell you, I am addicted to movie scores.  I love them.  I own about 300 of them on CD and have about 150 more albums with just MP3.  I have loved them since I was a kid.  I still remember my first soundtrack, ‘The Little Mermaid’ on casette tape.  I loved it.  Anyways I was thinking the other day about some of my favorite scores and how a lot of them are severly underrated and some that are just extremely hard to find.

black_beauty_giant_9_24568_2 Black Beauty is one of my all time favorite scores and my top favorite Danny Elfman score.  It’s beautiful and brings so much emotion to the film.  It is very different from most of Elfman’s scores.  It can sway your emtion with its  themes which range from light and merry to solemn and morose.  Many of the tracks have a dreamish type feel to them, or like you are running through the memories of the character.  It fits the movie so well.  I find it a shame that this score is out of print, it is one of the best ones I have heard in years.  Find it on ebay, buy it at a garage sale, or find a download somewhere online.  It is really worth having.

Moving on is another one of my favorite soundtracks.  You wouldn’t really expect a Disney kids movie to have very powerful music, but I find that the Air Bud theme is very well done.  It’s one of my favorite ones as well.  This score in my opinion is very underrated.  There’s a lot of great music from this movie, and a wide range of it too.  Sadder themes of when Josh says goodbye to Buddy or remembers his father, to funny parts where Buddy is trashing the gym and house, to the best theme of the whole soundtrack, when Josh discover’s Buddy’s talent.  This soundtrack is still somewhat easy to find on amazon or ebay and at a reasonable price.  It is worth a buy.

I will add other scores I love next time I blog…might post one or two mini reviews like this at a time.  :)

So now I would love to hear from anyone reading this what some of their favorite soundtracks are and why.  So feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from the people who visit my site.  It makes my day.  :D

I love OSTs too! The more I don’t understand the language, the better. hehe

I just noticed that OSTs that aren’t in my native language (filipino) or in english work better in portraying or reminding me of the scenes/emotions involved when they were played. Maybe the lyrics are a distraction for me. That’s why I like Chinese/Korean/plain-instrumental soundtracks better. As for favorites, I don’t have any. But if I wasn’t able to watch the movie/series I won’t like the music – no matter how good it seems to other people.

    (Long comment, much? XD)
