Night At The Museum II
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this movie. Most sequels really tend to disappoint me but this one wasn’t half bad, though it DID lack something that the first one did have. Originality just wasn’t there and a more solid story. It wasn’t BAD but it was just kind of blah. It, to me seemed less like a full sequel with a story, and more something you would put into a short film. Like it was just tacked on to the first so it could get a bit more money out of the franchise. It reminded me more of a fan fiction I would read than a real movie. The humor made up for the kind of bland story they had, so that’s why this movie wasn’t a flop to me.
That being said, the actors were all very good. The evil pharaoh seemed a bit light in the loafers but meh. I don’t have any problems with that it was just kinda what the… type thing. You don’t expect an evil pharaoh to act goofy and feminine at points. Though it was amusing it got a little too cheesy at points. The original cast was back and that was great. I was disappointed that Teddy didn’t have more screen time.
Stiller was pretty cool, so was Wilson and the dude who plays the roman general Octavius. The chick they got to play Amelia was really good, my mom said was the same woman who was in Enchanted. Well she fit the role great.
Special effects were good as ever and I was shocked they got the same person to score the film as the first. Usually that doesn’t happen. So the music was just as nice as the first one. I think it was a good summer movie, the first one still beats it though since it was something you weren’t really expecting and this one you just knew what was going to happen. That and there were so many things I was thinking during half the movie wasn’t it that when the tablet left the building everything would go back to being just stuff? I could have sworn that’s how it worked in the first one. Well this one the tablet would go from building to building and the mannequins and stuff would still be “alive”. Small things small things….
Anywho I got a new animated icon up and updated my youtube channel. I’ll try to work a bit more on my site, the layout is kind of bothering me lately. LOL I need some inspiration but something that stands out from regular designs too. Blah so much to do and so little time!!!
Ok now for the question of the blog!
What is or do you think will be your favorite movie of the summer?
Body Builder Dog
I just found this kind of interesting. Check out the photo of this whippet, Wendy. It has a genetic mutation which causes it to double its muscle mass. It’s not really new news but I didn’t find it till recently. I can just imagine walking down the street with a dog like that. My dog can kick your dogs butt even though she’s smaller. >:D Anyways if you wanna know more about this doggy check out this link.
At current I just been keeping busy with commissions and looking for work. Maybe I’ll go back to cleaning houses if I can’t get on at Petsmart. XD I have started broadcasting my drawing live from time to time if anyone is interested in checking it out go to this site: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/greykitty’s-scribblinz.
Uhm that is all for now.
I will hopefully have better more interesting posts soon. XD
Demons and the Media
So today I got into this interesting conversation with my dad and it got me to thinking about how Hollywood and the media in general glamorize demons. They make them seem like they aren’t so bad, that they are capable of doing good. Yes they were once good and holy beings but they fell, just as their leader did. They became corrupted. They are powerful but they will never use that power for good no matter how much people hope or think they do. They have fallen and know their fate and will try to take anyone they can with them to that fate. People thinking demons are capable of doing good try thinking on this:
“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: / And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? / And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.”
Even Abraham Lincoln quoted something similar when referring to our country during the civil war. Since the United States would not be at all strong if people were always warring over slavery and other things.
Anyways back to my point, video games are especially good at making demons look like heroes and wholesome. That they are bad but deep down they do have some good. Now I have no problem with video games, I enjoy them quite a bit, they are fun, but separate reality from the fiction. Now some think demons are just fiction, I myself believe otherwise and have seen some pretty crazy crap out there to know they do exists and confirm my beliefs. Same goes for Angels. I know so many people that have such a warped view on both Angels and Demons because of how the media portrays them. To many Angels are the goody two shoes that strum harps and sit on clouds and Demons are the bad ass cool mofos. They are powerful and they can and will hurt you in any way they can. They won’t help you, they won’t suddenly come to your aid, you cannot control them. As much as you would like to, you can’t. The only one that has power over them is God and the Angels are in a constant battle with them. Angels are just as strong as Demons but are under the command of God to protect and help. Demons are the opposites and are under the command of the Fallen One who is out to get you. He wants to drag you down with him.
Now I don’t know if whoever reads this agrees with me or not. I would love feedback regardless of whether you agree or not, but do not bash please. I respect everyones opinion and I appreciate that people respect mine.
Anyways I might do more blogs delving into what I believe here and there. Won’t always be like this but it’s part of who I am and I like to share. Oh and for those into heavier music that’s really pretty good check out Demon Hunter, the image above is one of their album covers. Really good music, good message.
