Night At The Museum II

night-at-the-museum-ii I wasn’t sure what to expect with this movie. Most sequels really tend to disappoint me but this one wasn’t half bad, though it DID lack something that the first one did have. Originality just wasn’t there and a more solid story. It wasn’t BAD but it was just kind of blah. It, to me seemed less like a full sequel with a story, and more something you would put into a short film. Like it was just tacked on to the first so it could get a bit more money out of the franchise. It reminded me more of a fan fiction I would read than a real movie. The humor made up for the kind of bland story they had, so that’s why this movie wasn’t a flop to me.

That being said, the actors were all very good. The evil pharaoh seemed a bit light in the loafers but meh. I don’t have any problems with that it was just kinda what the… type thing. You don’t expect an evil pharaoh to act goofy and feminine at points. Though it was amusing it got a little too cheesy at points. The original cast was back and that was great. I was disappointed that Teddy didn’t have more screen time. :( Stiller was pretty cool, so was Wilson and the dude who plays the roman general Octavius. The chick they got to play Amelia was really good, my mom said was the same woman who was in Enchanted. Well she fit the role great.

Special effects were good as ever and I was shocked they got the same person to score the film as the first. Usually that doesn’t happen. So the music was just as nice as the first one. I think it was a good summer movie, the first one still beats it though since it was something you weren’t really expecting and this one you just knew what was going to happen. That and there were so many things I was thinking during half the movie wasn’t it that when the tablet left the building everything would go back to being just stuff? I could have sworn that’s how it worked in the first one. Well this one the tablet would go from building to building and the mannequins and stuff would still be “alive”. Small things small things….

Anywho I got a new animated icon up and updated my youtube channel. I’ll try to work a bit more on my site, the layout is kind of bothering me lately. LOL I need some inspiration but something that stands out from regular designs too. Blah so much to do and so little time!!!
Ok now for the question of the blog!

What is or do you think will be your favorite movie of the summer? :D

I thought Hank Azaria (the pharaoh) was brilliant. You should see him in other movies. He’s really good at playiny a bunch of different types of characters.

There were a lot of things in the movie that made me go WTF?!? For starters, the tablet thing that you mentioned. It made no sense since he left them all yet they were still alive. It followed different rules then the first one. There was also a lot of damage done to the new museum. Don’t you think people will notice? Or what about the giant octopus in the water? Or the moving abe lincoln statue? PEOPLE WOULD NOTICE!!! Especially if you try to fly a plane in the nation’s capital. The military would so attack you…… Also… why didn’t anyone replace ben stiller as the night guard in the old museum…. and why didn’t the smithsonian have any night guards?!?! No one noticed ANYTHING that happened?!?! Come on…

I found the movie very entertaining, though.

  • Yeah I hate blah movies LOL

I know what you mean about the movie lacking something. Haha, my b/f made the comment when Abraham Lincoln was walking around, “In Washington D.C., even at night, no one notices the giant stone president walking around??” Haha. The Pharoah kind of got on my nerves. What’s with the lisp? It was ok, but I liked the first one better.

Even though it came out ages ago in most theaters…
Monsters Vs. Aliens just came to our stupid little one movie a week theater, and I quite liked it. Now I want to see ‘Up’, but unfortunately the next movie to come to town is going to be ’17 Again’. Bleeeh.
