Blue Rats

ratafter_553255 So today when I was ustreaming my arts someone linked me a really interesting article. Basically scientists discovered that blue food dye would relieve the pressure from swelling in rat’ damaged spines by injecting it into them, rather than making them go through a longer and more harsh treatment. There were no side affects except that all the rats injected turned blue! They look kinda cute really.

Not much else to blog about for today. I’m brainstorming a new layout…like I said like five million times already. Been trying to stream more of my sketches live and people have been enjoying them a lot. If anyone is interested I’ll link it here. Leave a comment if you are.

Movie Mania

johnny-depp-as-john-dillinger-photo-2 I think this is the most movies I have seen in the last few months all bunched into two weeks. :P Ok so I saw The Proposal and Public Enemies. Both were pretty good. The first was not really what I expected. It was pretty funny and not just a lovey dovey churn your stomach romance. It had some pretty darn funny scenes. It reminded me a bit of “While you Were Sleeping”. Good humor, no hardcore sex, good acting, nice story, etc. Overall it was a fun comedy and I would suggest it to anyone who like Sandra Bullock or lighthearted films.
Second movie was good, dark, but good. Excellent casting for that one. It has some slow moments but they are interesting at least so it keeps you going. The ending is a bit anti-climatic but for the rest it was great. Johnny Depp made for a good gangster. Really good music in that movie as well.
I dunno really what else to say about the movies other than I would recommend both as they were both good films. There wasn’t anything REALLY astounding in the graphics so they could wait for a video rental but worth seeing in cinema if you get a chance.

Ok so as for other updates, I posted a new background in the desktops page. I hope to get more posted up soonish too. I have a lot of photos I need to still go through and convert to desktop format. :-) I have also uploaded a TON of new art over the last few weeks. It’s amazing too how sometimes the smallest things just make your day. I finally got an old watch my dad had given me years ago fixed and with a new watchband too. It just made my day since I haven’t been able to wear it since 2001 or something. Tis a very nice watch with Simba on the face. Second hand had fallen off but now it’s all good. ^_^

And the question of the post today is! What is your favorite movie genre, and why? :-D

Ice Age 3

teaserIceAge So I saw this one on Sunday and I thought it was pretty good. The storyline was not amazing or anything but the humorous parts make up for the weak plot, I think. I liked what they did to further develop Scrat’s story for sure. It was great. They kind of killed Manny’s personality and made him too overcautious and annoying. Diego didn’t change too much, nor did sid. The other newer characters were pretty good, they didn’t change them from the second film, and the newest characters they introduced were great. Music was good, animation was excellent (like usual) and the small lessons that were littered about were good. I can’t say it was the best of the Ice Age movies but it was pretty good. My favorite will always be the first, but this was a good sequel, it’s just as strong as the second one. I’d recommend it for a rent maybe even seeing it in theaters, but if you do try to see it in 3D! :-D I wish we had been able too.

On a personal note, I will be gone for a short while. I have A LOT going on starting this weekend till about the beginning of August so updates might be a little scarce until then. After that I will try to pick up the pace a little and might get some new tutorials made as well. I want to try and do some video tutorials. :-) Might try to come up with a nicer layout…still need some good ideas for one though… anywho that’s all for now folks! Oh and a question hmmm… What’s been your favorite movie of this summer?
