Bull crap. They don’t even give you two minutes into the movie before it’s screaming about it. Yes movie we get your point, global warming baaaaad. Must kill self now to stop such evils from occurring!!!! This movie disgusts me. The worst movie I have watched this year. I’m sure there will be another movie worse than this soon, the third Twilight, BUT for now this is the worst I’ve bothered to waste my precious time on. I would rather pluck out every hair on my body one by one with rusted tweezers than have to watch this steaming pile of dog poo again.

I already knew after the characters were introduced what was going to happen, it was such a cookie cutter movie. Single dad, working away from home, rebellious obnoxious teen/young adult daughter, four stupids that tag along. The brave one, the dumb one, the chicken, and the black dude. Well we already know black dude’s dead cause that’s how it always goes, though he didn’t go first this time. *gasp* So they find out that this Mammoth that was infected EONS ago with some parasite has been thawed out and it has infected the team of scientists they went up to visit. They get infected and try to stop the coward man from calling people up because it’ll spread blah blah, then they find out oh the girl’s daddy is being a royal douche by trying infect himself and spread it to the world so they gotta stop him now. Huzzah! In the end only one survives to warn the world and then you see that oop it’s too late anyways cause the birds have got ‘em. Golly gee whizz. :B

GARGH I just… words cannot describe how much I HATED the characters. The only enjoyable one was the black man and he had like NO personality in this movie. He was nice, and he sacrificed himself… even though he was pretty much doomed anyways but that’s besides the point. The movie stayed inside this makeshift science complex pretty much 95% of the time and it was BORING. ZOMG the bugs are eating people from inside out. Ok… that’s nasty uhm… where’s the action? Oh yeah scaredy man is running around with a gun, ok.. fun.

Most of the time I just felt like punching the characters. They were so STUPID. The girl, for instance, went around touching EVERYONE and EVERYTHING but she managed to somehow stay parasite free, as does her little bit of a love interest. The time she does come close to being infected he grabs the bug somehow, pulling it outta her would even though it probably would have snapped off its tail or something and still made it in… and just UGH so much stupid in this movie. The scientists are evilz and try to spread the bugs, you got the dumb college kids with no common sense blabbing about melting ice caps…

I dunno what else to say about this movie… it’s just stupid plot, stupid scripting, stupid characters, the idea of it sounded kinda interesting when I read the back but… no it’s just … stupid and boring. It was like watching an hour and half like advertisement by the greenpeacers about global warming. Bleeeeeh I haven’t been so disgusted by a movie since… well ok New Moon, BUT at least it wasn’t screaming at me about global warming!!! In fact I would rather have sat through that crappy movie again than watched this at all. Psh… ok that’s my thoughts for this one. I seen a couple other interesting movies I will post up here but this one… I just HAD to write something now.

Compared to the old movie this one was really different, I actually cannot compare it that much it’s SO different it’s like watching a totally unrelated film.  Other than they both have A robot and they are both freaking people out.    That’s about all they have in common.  This movie lacked the heart the old one had.  The old one you could feel for the characters, the dialogue was good.  This one it was the fallback to graphics, which were nice, but nothing real amazing.  I did miss how in the old one you could feel connected to both the humans AND the aliens, and in this one it was like meh if they all die who cares.

So overall the movie was ok, but the old one still beats it out.  It might lack the shiny effects the new one has but the new one lacks the feeling the old one had and I’ll take that over graphics any day.  It’s still worth a watch but I’d say watch the original first then check out the new one.  Yup short review but I really haven’t got a whole lot to say about this movie without giving away any spoilers so.

But anyways, my little bugaboo passed on Thursday.  He was becoming terribly thin due to the thickening of his intestine walls, he couldn’t digest his food properly and it was really taking it’s toll.  So he was put down.  I’m happy he lived for as long as he did.  1994-2010, 16 years.  I’m gonna miss him so much.

Rest in peace baby. You were the best childhood companion I could have ever had. We went through good and bad times, you were always there for me when I needed you most.

You were my playmate, my comforter, my backyard adventurer, crazy catnip licking loony, back flipping string chasing cat. Even when you got senile and only wanted food, I miss that too. Petting my sandwich thinking it would get you a bite. Always sitting at the door to the kitchen with giant eyes waiting for something to fall on the floor. Or stealing silverware outta the sink to lick it clean.

I miss you so much, I miss your tiny meow that didn’t match your body, I miss those brilliant green eyes. Nothing will ever replace you. You’ve joined your other mates now, you don’t suffer from anything anymore, and I pray I see you again. Till then you’ll always be in my heart, I remember and cherish all the great times we had together.

Other stuff of my bugaboo:

I think a lot of us get so wrapped up in the smaller less significant things in life and we lose focus. I know so many Christians that get so involved in the evolution debate that they start to get mad and rage about it.  They start getting cocky saying they ARE right absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt.  What kind of impression does that leave on people who are not of our faith? I can guarantee it’s not a good one. It’s good to have a firm belief, and it’s good to not be swayed, but do not force it upon other people and don’t lose your cool.  Stay open to hearing the other party out otherwise they will not give you a chance to state what you believe.  Even Christians which have differing views about old earth new earth clash badly.  We need to accept that not everyone’s gonna see things exactly like you want them to.

I’ve observed many Christians that get anal over even more petty things that just revolve around church. They don’t wear the right kind of clothes, sing the right kind of music, and such things like that. It’s all so very petty but sometimes it can cause huge rifts within the body of Christ.  I think a lot of times people need to refocus on why they are Christian and why they believe in God.  Example of this in an extreme is the baptist church somewhere in the south east of the states.  They were burning Pokemon games and Harry Potter books.  They picket at military funerals saying the reason our men are dying is because there are gay people in our country.   These people are filled with hate, not love.  God IS love so when all you show is a hateful spirit you do not represent God, but Satan.  They leave a foul impression of what a TRUE Christian is.

I do not attend a church and I probably won’t return to one for a long time.  I’ve found most to be routine, they are spiritually dead, the people put up a false front.  It’s oh we go every week, we are good people, we socialize, get a does of preaching and singing and then we continue our lives.  The singing is boring and repetitive, the preaching is usually always about how to accept Christ or the most common stories, and if you’ll notice younger people tend to never attend these days.   Most churches I have been to say the same things over and over, that’s all fine and dandy but I don’t learn much that way.  I prefer more of a one on one or small group, and honestly I feel that churches today are not what God had intended in the beginning.  The mega churches, sure they do some good but they don’t give time to each individual, which I know is hard.  I had someone get annoyed with me for saying this because it’s “selfish to think someone can share all their time with everyone”.  Which wasn’t my point.  I just find small groups better, they are welcoming and you can bond with people that way.  Churches these days are the same as they have been for decades and they are losing their audience as the older ones go out the younger ones are not coming in.  The church needs a revival and a serious change.  Not all changes are bad, most churches think it is, they are stuck in their comfortable routine, their safety bubble, it needs change.

On to another thing that just annoys me to no end are arrogant Christians.  They are very common, sadly, and they force their beliefs on everyone.  They will not stand still and listen to an opposing view, they are judgmental and not open to much of anything at all.  They usually end up offending people more than leaving good impressions, by preaching at them or forcing their thoughts on people who do not want to hear them.  I find this is a horrible way to witness to people.  Maybe it worked in the decades gone by but it doesn’t work so well today.  People don’t want to hear about how they are gonna burn in hell and they’re not gonna listen if that’s how you talk.  They want to hear positive things, they don’t want to be told what they can or cannot do.  IE Catholic church with their list books they hand out of what someone should or should not wear if they wish to be a believer.  I could say more about how wrong I think this is but I think you get my point.

Christianity is not about how many times you pray a day, it’s not about how you dress, it’s not about what music you groove to, it’s not about the amount of times you go to church.  It’s about Christ, it’s about God and it’s about showing His love to others regardless of whether they agree with you are not.  It is a personal relationship, it’s not something that needs to be acquired through a man made establishment.  You don’t need to ask forgiveness through a pastor, that’s something private between you and God.  If someone is gay, so what?  God loves them just as much as anyone else, why should we be the ones to judge?  Someone who’s strung out on drugs, or a pregnant teen, yeah God loves them just as much and those are the people that need to be reached out to the most.  I think the best witness is to just show God’s love.  A true Christian will stand out from the rest of the people just by being who they are, there is just something about them that will be attractive and others will notice.  Other people won’t know why, and they will start to inquire as to why you act so differently from the rest.

So those are a few of my thoughts down in text now finally.  I hopefully didn’t give a wrong impression with them, my wording is not always the best.  haha Anyways any comments or thoughts on it, even opposing views are welcome.

Been watching a few older movies, checked out The Librarian. I have to say it’s really cheesy and it made me laugh sometimes at how lame it was, it’s ok. Nothing real amazing but if you’re bored it’s ok to watch. It’s not a movie that’ll grab your attention right off though. I was drawing while watching it and sometimes I’d zone out because it got a little dull but meh. Catch it on TV or netflix maybe.

That’s about it for this entry, I’m waiting for the rain to go away! Tired of it. The weather here is always windy and wet, kinda like a bad fart, it’s not enjoyable! XD

I won’t call this a fear so to speak but it makes me feel uncomfortable. Anytime I’m laying in bed and I have a hand or foot hanging off the edges of the bed I always feel like something’s gonna come reach up and grab it. A hangover from when I was a little kid and thought there were demons under my bed. I know it’s silly but even to this day I won’t let my feet or hands hang over the edge of the bed at night.

So now I am curious, what is a strange/irrational fear of yours?

I’m gonna try to come up with a new layout soon. I’m finally settled on what I wanna use for it I just gotta come up with a nice color scheme.

It’s pretty stupid of her to brag about what she’s doing at home, online.  Oh I just decapitated a dead dog and put him on my wall.  Ok…granted it could totally be the truth she didn’t know the dog was owned, since she owns a dog herself most of the time they won’t just randomly kill pets, but that’s still not something you go around bragging about.  The other thing is the whole “I’m a werewolf” part.  I find that pretty silly too.  “I’m really a wolf in a human body, I would never hurt one of my kin”.  Ooook…if you wanna think that then well I guess go for it.  More info about her is here in this article.

What’s your folks’ opinions on this?

People keep going on and on about it’s amazingness. I’m really tired of it, and when I say I don’t think it’s that good people don’t respect my opinion and try to say I’m a hater or it’s cause I didn’t see it in its full 3D glory. Psh, I don’t really care honestly, sure the eye candy was pretty spectacular but the story was too recycled and predictable for me to wanna watch it again or waste $12 to go see it in 3D.  I’m not a hater, I just don’t see what all the hype is about.  So before someone starts bashing on me I will say I DID enjoy watching it at least once, but I’m not wowed by it.

Avatar fans have gone WAY too far, it’s worse than, dare I say it, Twilight! I mean… look at this article about people getting depressed because they cannot ever live in the world of Pandora. Ok, uhm movies are supposed to be a temporary escape, move on with life, it’s a freaking movie.
As with Twilight I’m sure Avatar will have it’s own religion soon too. Ya know sometimes it’s not the actual movies we hate so much but the “fandumb” that follows them. I know many of the fandumbs online have ruined certain movies for me and this is why I avoid most altogether now. People don’t know what too far is anymore. When you commit suicide over a stupid movie, you’re getting pretty pathetic.

People, especially obsessive fans, need to wake up! Most of your favorite movies are all just make believe. It’s like those little fantasy worlds you create as a child, only in this case they were lucky enough to have people buy this idea and make it into something visual. It’s great to have a little “fantasy realm” you can escape to from time to time, but you cannot waste your life there. Come to grips with reality.

So we went to a regular denim shop, ok cool they actually have REAL American jeans, but… 60 euros!!! That’s almost $100. No thanks! So I cannot even fit into the regular European jeans, which heh are spreading about the States anyways so either place it’s hard to find GOOD pants but at least they are still carried here and there and don’t cost me a spleen to buy more than one pair.

Now to the point of this journal, other than I find most stuff overpriced here in Europe when it shouldn’t be. WHY can they not make jeans that are for NORMAL AVERAGE people. You either get the really skinny or the ultra fat pants. The sizes in the middle are incredibly hard to find. I’m not a really FAT person but I’m not petite either, I have a large bone structure so it’s physically impossible for me to fit in anything smaller than a 10M (42 I think over here). I have short legs too so if I buy pants I usually have to watch out that the legs don’t drag on the ground or they start looking like the fringe from an antique lampshade.

The same thing happens to me with ice skates and shoes and even long sleeved shirts and coats. I have a long torso and shorter arms so the arms are always too long. Though that does come in handy with coats because I can suck my hands up into the sleeves making wearing gloves not always required on cold walks. Anyways and shoes, I have wider feet and they are short so for the longest time I would always bust out the seems on the sides near the ball of my foot. They finally DID wise up and find out women don’t always have dainty little princess feet and made wider shoes but till we found those I wore out shoes pretty fast.

They make pants bigger but then it looks like the person is wearing tubes on their legs rather than pants because they make them so wide at the bottom. Or you get people wearing pants WAY too tight for them, makes their butts pop and the muffin tops come up for air. I wonder if they lose blood circulation to their legs too…
Trends… they suck!

Anyways I’m straying so back on track, I shall attack the story first. Beings as I have not read the books or seen any old shows I had no clue really where the story was going to go, I was only familiar with some of the main characters and how they acted in the cartoon. Hah. I figured somewhere a long the line Moriarty would show up but I didn’t expect it how they did it in this film. Good going writers. They left the ending open for a sequel which I’m sure will be great if it’s anything like this movie was. So the story was good, it kept me interested the whole two hours and x amount of minutes.

I love how they portrayed Sherlock and Watson. I always had pictured them as very serious and sophisticated type, typical British stereotype, but I’m glad they weren’t in this movie. I really liked the relationship they built up between Holmes and Watson. It made it so much more interesting. In fact they showed how most brilliant people tend to be incredibly eccentric. Best Sherlock ever, and I’m not just saying that cause I think the actor is cool either. Though he is pretty cool, he has a knack for portraying eccentric characters rather well. Anywho, the whole cast was really great, I think they did a good job of picking the right actors/actresses. The good guys were like-able the bad guys were hate-able and yea that’s about that.

The effects were great, not like there was a TON of dazzling cgi, but just small things that make it really great. Like the explosions and the whole late 1800’s early 1900’s London scene. They did an excellent job with that. The score is great, Zimmer, and usually when they go with him you can’t go wrong. It has a bit of PotC 3 flavor to it but also something new too. My friend told me they hired a Romanian orchestra because they liked their violin playing so well. Overall just good stuff.

I don’t wanna give anything away about the movie so I won’t say much else. I really enjoyed it, it’s a fun movie, full of action and humorous moments. There are a few twists and turns that make you think hmm oh it’ll turn out this way and then it turns out another way. I like that in a movie. I don’t know really what else to add on it, go see it, it’s worth watching in cinema and owning on DVD. I’m now inspired to go draw something inspired by the movie… hmmmm…
