These days I personally prefer watching shows that aren’t based on “reality”. But really, I think “reality” shows are not reality at all. Ok, maybe for some it is, but they find the worst of the worst to go on those shows most of the time. Most average people are not like those people at all. With all the terrible things that the news media and these series show their audience, it’s no wonder people have fallen under the impression that there is no good left in this world. If bad things are all you see, then yeah, that’s what’s going to absorb your thoughts and sour your mood. Bad things go into you, and bad things will come out.

There was a very good reason for the Lord to say be cautious with what you fill your mind with.

Philippians 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers, whatever is true,
whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is
lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy–think about such things.

Now this isn’t to say you go around being ignorant of all that goes on around you. Not at all, it just means don’t fill your head full of all the negative. Do not dwell on the negative. Focus on something greater than these bad things. When you switch your thinking you’ll notice your mood will be better, you’ll have a more positive outlook on life, and life is much more enjoyable (even during the dark times).

I’ve gotten caught up by the bad things, they brought me down. All I could think about was how miserable life can be, rather than appreciating what life is. These thoughts got me to quit thinking about the good things in my own life. I lost my focus on God, quit seeing the beauty around me, and all the little joys there are in life; when I did, I got depressed and it just spirals down from there.

Whether you believe in God or not, this is a good principle to live by, and if you haven’t tried, you should. It can and will make a difference. This doesn’t just apply to tv either, but it’s one of the major things, next to the internet, that influences people. It’s impossible to avoid everything bad, but that doesn’t mean that that’s all we have to think about and dwell on.

What is this country coming to?! Something so innocent like wedding rings would be deemed offensive to the general public by a school board? The teen was given a weekend to think about weather she would use her original design or change it and has decided to keep it. GOOD FOR HER.

So my dream started out that Micha (my husband) and I were back in Belgium for a visit but it had turned into more than just a visit. At first it was just a vacation but then we bumped into someone and they told us we had to find something really important. We were staying at this hotel place but were being surveilled. We had to get out and find an object and that object would lead us to something or someone which is what we needed. The hotel was full and there were people coming in and out of it every few minutes. There was a lady in the room we were in and she suddenly started having a fit, another woman, looked like her sister, came in and started to help her. She kept causing a commotion, so while that was going on it gave us a chance to slip out. The people watching us weren’t distracted for long and noticed we had left the building and quickly started to come after us.

We ran and managed to slip away into a maze of smaller streets that branched off from the main one. Next thing I know we’re in a small part of the city, a much older part, and we’re running down a narrow street. There was a turn and a little nook in the wall, we go there and inside the nook was a pair of clogs, of all things. These were what we needed, however the only way they’d work is if someone who spoke fluent Dutch would put them on. So my husband did it and the shoes activated and started shuffling him off to where we needed to go. The look on his face was of utter disgust, he hates clogs in real life and that carried over into the dream. XD The shoes kept him speed walking and I followed. We passed by a coffee bar on one of the side streets full of Dutchies and they all asked “How’s the clogs, are you enjoying them?” To that Micha activated maximum scowl mode as the shoes whisked him on to our destination.

Finally they stopped at a trap door at the very end of an alley. We lifted up the door and out of the darkness came two hooves followed by some blue legs and finally a whole horse popped out. But! He was not just any horse, he was magical. He told us that he could save us and stop the people that were trying to steal away the secrets he held. So we were about to leave…. and my cat woke me up. XD I was a little bummed, I wanted to know what amazing magical things he was going to do.

So that was my crazy, amusing dream. just thought I’d write an actual blog today and share that.

It’s a book for kids ages 2-5 (roughly) and about a little boy (Caleb) and his imagination and adventures. They’re Biblically based and teach good morals and values etc. I’m not sure when it’ll be available, this one still needs editing and formatting. I’ve got another book from her to illustrate soon as well. So it’ll be fun.

Other than that… well not much to report. haha! Thanks for those who visit and have sent me feedback and commented etc. I totally appreciate it!

This is gross! Really gross.
I knew Mc Donalds and other fast food chains had been using it (thankfully they stopped) but I didn’t ever think it was in regular beef you buy at the store. Though that shouldn’t surprise me with all the other nasty stuff they’ve been adding to our food and calling safe. (i.e. Corn Syrup, Aspartame, growth hormones etc.) This stuff is being served in schools too! That part doesn’t surprise me at all though cause when I went to public school some of the “hot lunch” food was spoiled when they served it to us. A kid go a hold of a green hotdog and got nasty food poisoning from it. Granted he was dumb enough to eat it but still! It shouldn’t have even been served!

Michelle Obama is promoting better food and good health in schools, then WHY did the government just buy 7 million pounds of this pink slime to serve at schools?! This stuff used to be classed as only acceptable to feed to dogs!

I haven’t seen any movies I really have felt like reviewing so that’s why there’s been a lack of entries on that.  I do have a few things to blog on but I just haven’t had the time and motivation to sit down and do that lately.  X3  Oh ye lame excuses…but I have been busy.  I figured I should at least throw up a little update for this month though since I’ve not posted anything since January.

In other news I’ve been updating my art sections. Eventually I’ll get around to re-posting some of my photography but for now I just don’t have the time or motivation. I’ve seen a couple movies since my last review post, Beauty and the Beast 3D, Tin Tin and Sherlock Holmes. They were all really good, I enjoyed them a lot. Totally recommend them. It was really cool seeing Beauty and the Beast remastered like that. The 3D reminded me of my old View Master. lol

My comic site is also a year old now and we’re fast approaching 50 comics! Woot! I’m kinda proud of myself for sticking to it for so long. I usually get to about three or four pages of comics then stop, but I’ve kept going. Mainly though because I’ve received so much feedback about them. I appreciate it folks!

SOPA and PIPA are power grabs to control the internet. This would allow a firewall like that of China or Iran. Thankfully there has been progress made in the SOPA battle and it has been shelved, but there is still more to be done. PIPA is equally as dangerous.
