I finally have been out seeing movies lately! Spiderman, it was really good. I loved how they portrayed Spidey in this new one. He was much more enjoyable than the older one. At least in my opinion. Maybe I just didn’t care much for the Maguire portrayal… I dunno, but yeah I liked it a lot. Also saw Men In Black 3. I had pretty low expectations but it actually was a lot better than I thought it’d be and a step up from part two. I actually wish we could just pretend 2 never happened and skip to 3. lol I will probably purchase both on blu ray sometime.
Anywho! I saw Dark Knight Rises tonight and it was great! I don’t really know which is my favorite of all three though, I think they’re about equal. I liked how this one tied in with the first two, particularly showing connections with the first villain. The twist near the end was pretty good too, I was kind of expecting something but not quite like that. I definitely think it was a worthy sequel. There are a few scenes that didn’t quite seem to fit, one in particular involving one of the leading female characters in the film. I won’t spoil it, but I will say she plays a kind of romantic interest for a short while, and I just found that it didn’t really seem fit Bruce Wayne’s character very well as he was still mourning the loss of his previous love interest. That being said, the movie had interesting villains, interesting story, and was just overall enjoyable. I will definitely be getting this one when it hits blu ray.
I also saw Ice Age 4 this last week. It wasn’t as good as the first two but I think it was better than the 3rd one. It was way more goofy than the first one was, but still really enjoyable. I got some pretty good laughs from it, and the new characters were really interesting. My main nitpick is that they could have built the bad guy up some more. He was pretty cool and I think if they had maybe filled in some of his past it would have made him just that much more interesting and given him more depth. Same goes for the new sabertooth they introduced. I would have loved to have seen more about her too, but yeah, overall it’s a pretty ok sequel. Worth watching, and maybe owning.
LAST but not least, when I went to see Batman I had one complaint. A family came in and sat right behind us with two little kids, and they couldn’t have been more than 3 years old. Why on earth do people bring their babies and toddlers to a movie like this?? It’s freaking obnoxious having a little kid laugh, whine, and make noises the whole movie through. I mean really, a kid like that shouldn’t be in there at all. If you can’t find a babysitter, go another night. The whole Batman series is not a “let’s take the whole family, babies too!” type movie. blargh, that and the same family had a talker; through the whole movie he kept making obnoxious “captain obvious” comments. Gotta love annoying people. XD
So that’s about it. I’ve been enjoying lots of good movies and am totally psyched for the Hobbit this December.
