So this last weekend we went to see Law Abiding Citizen. I can just say WOW, this movie was intense. It was kind of weird to see Butler in that kind of a role too. It’s a thinking movie and it keeps you guessing how it’s going to end till near the end. The actors are great, the story is interesting, the basic jist of the movie is it’s about a father who witnessed his wife and daughter be murdered. The courts let the murdered go and gave the accomplice the death sentence but only ten years later. The man feels he’s been screwed over by the judiciary system and starts to kill people off one by one, starting with the accomplice. How he kills them is the most interesting part, and it’s left up to a lawyer to figure it all out.
It’s definitely one worth seeing. If you like crime/thriller type movies.
Toy Story 3! It was good, I enjoyed it, but it’s still not going to top the first one in my opinion. Something was missing to it, and I don’t think there was a enough Buzz. It kinda seemed like they tried to cram too much into one movie and were kind of running out of time. The animation, the music, and everything is really good. It is a worthy sequel, but I still just prefer the original. I do recommend checking it out though in cinemas. Maybe not in 3D as there’s nothing really astounding in it that would really look awesome in 3D but just in regular format.
So that’s my opinion on those two movies. I got a couple more movies to post about but for now… this’ll do.
So I finally got to see Pixar’s latest movie “Up” and what are my thoughts on it? The whole idea of a house that flies with balloons and talking dogs that fly planes is utterly ridiculous but by thunder the story is amazing! I have not sat in a movie for years now, especially one that’s animated, that made me tear up. This one made me! That’s a very rare occurrence. I really didn’t think they were going to build up the characters as well as they did, but DANG I underestimated this movie severely.
Right off the bat they started out building up the characters and they didn’t do it in a boring way. I applaud them for that as most movies that try to build up a character tend to make it long and drawn out and I lose interest. I can’t say I found any of the characters annoying. The boy WAS annoying but still like-able. If that makes sense. The animation is really really really good, like usual. Good music to go with this one too. The theme of the movie is most excellent. As I said earlier the whole premise of the movie is utter cheese but the story brings it together and makes it work somehow. This is one that I would recommend anyone see, though it’s got more of a mature theme to it. In places really little kids won’t understand what is going on or it might frighten them a little. The woman behind me brought her two daughters, oldest being 6, to the movie and most of the time I kept hearing comments like “Mommy that was scary” “mommy what happened to the old lady?” “mommy why are they doing that?”. Very annoying so just advice don’t take any kid under 6 to see it unless they are very mature for their age. lol
Oh and the short in front of the movie was great! Very funny and had a good little plot to it. I kind of wish I could have seen this in 3D, it would have been even better, but it’s great just in the normal theater.
Updates on the site: MOAR ART go see. :B
